Start the day with a highly enjoyable breakfast. At our breakfast buffet we offer all kinds of homemade products, crispy rolls, jams, cereals, selection of ham and cheese, as well as juices and fruits. Enjoy also tea, freshly ground coffee, espresso or a fragrant cappuccino. So you can start in the day strengthened and in full vigour. For a trip we will gladly prepare a lunch package for you.

Specialties from South Tyrol and Italian dishes

A good meal is important for a relaxing holiday. We will pamper you not only with homemade specialties from South Tyrol, but also with selected dishes from the Italian cuisine. The boss, who leads the kitchen team, ensures the constant quality of the cuisine. Our many regulars appreciate it a lot.

We particulary place value in fresh and healthy ingredients. Depending on the season we use vegetables and herbs from our own garden, as well as ingredients from local farmers.

Our "À la Carte" restaurant is open from tuesday to saturday.

Törggelen in South Tyrol

"Törggelen" is a centuries-old South Tyrolean tradition in autumn and also at the Hotel Markushof we celebrate in good company with traditional music and a good glass of wine. There will be served typical törggele dishes such as barley soup, salt meat, sauerkraut, dumplings, South Tyrolean bacon, smoked sausage and bread.

Originally, the term "törggelen" comes from the Latin word "torquere" and means press and rotate. This refers to the pressing of the must after the grape harvest, which was the procedure for wine making. In Autumn, at the end of the working season the farmers met to celebrate the harvest and to taste the young wine of the harvest.

Today mainly the “Buschenschänke” and inns offer "Törggelen" in the late autumn for locals and visitors. In the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Markushof in Auer and the adjacent wine villages, you will find countless places to stop by for "Törggelen".
